Focus on Action, Learning through Innovation
In this digital era, it is crucial to be aware of the risks and challenges that the maritime industry faces in the field of cybersecurity. Maritime operations are crucial for logistics and national defense. Moreover, our sector has become increasingly dependent on advanced technologies and connected systems. Therefore, it is essential to take the right measures to protect our ships and maritime infrastructure from cyber threats.
The importance of cybersecurity cannot be underestimated. Therefore, we must focus our efforts on ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our maritime systems.
Maritime Cybersecurity Center (MCC) is a collaboration between the Royal Belgian Shipowners' Association (RBSA), MCA and V-ICT-OR. This community aims to be the cybersecurity guide for the maritime sector.
Together, we strengthen the security culture through:
- Awareness and training of all stakeholders
- Powerful technical measures and security protocols tailored to maritime needs
- Sharing valuable information about threats and best practices
- Facilitating collaborations
The emphasis is on action and learning, providing opportunities to comprehend innovation as both a mindset and a skill through practical projects. Everyone—from students, schools, universities to research centers and governments—is welcome to contribute fresh ideas and expertise.
