Partnership Flanders Investment & Trade
One of our partners, the Blue Cluster, has been working together with Flanders Investment & Trade for some time in setting up international activities, but yesterday this cooperation was formalized in a structural partner agreement. It was signed by CEO Blue Cluster Marc Nuytemans, Flemish Minister-President Jan Jambon and Managing Director of FIT Claire Tillekaerts.
The closer cooperation with Flanders Investment & Trade is part of 'Vlaanderen versnelt', the internationalisation strategy for the Flemish economy that has been coordinated by FIT since 2016. From 2022 to 2026, The Blue Cluster will actively contribute to the implementation of this strategy and help Flemish companies to internationalise more.
The blue economy is a strongly growing sector in Flanders, but the space available in the Belgian North Sea is limited. Therefore, internationalisation is being promoted to give companies the opportunity to continue to grow.
Besides the Blue Cluster, 20 other organisations have entered into a similar partnership with FIT. These include sector federations and clusters, bilateral chambers of commerce, entrepreneurial organisations and incubators. Each of them focuses on essential themes for the internationalisation of Flanders.
