Digital Twins

Due to digital data gathering, we can construct ever more complex models of complex systems and use these models for analysis and simulations. These digital twins have become a tool to get complex insights and discover new ways for operational excellence.

But to what extent do we need to gather all data for these digital twins to make sense and where do you stop? What are interesting domains for which these digital twins need to be made and to what extent do you need one complex digital twin of everything or just a lot of small digital twins that interact?
